Hitachi Advancement in Technology - Through its on-going commitment to the continued innovation of its power tools line, Hitachi is rolling out several unparalleled and valuable technologies. In particular, its internal double insulation technology will be included in all power tools produced. This technology greatly increases the lifespan of Hitachi power tools due to a considerable reduction in vibration.
The picture above shows the bandsaw I built using the things mentioned. It took me a couple months, since I only worked on it in the evenings and on weekends, but I figure I spent around $100 to make me a functioning bandsaw that cuts up to 12 inch logs. A bandsaw like this would have cost me probably $1200 or more to buy commercially. I later invested in a new motor so I could run it on straight 110 single phase instead of 220 volts single phase. That cost me about $200. I also wrote and kept the plans to the saw so that I could either build another one or share the plans with others.
The type of tool and the tools working area will help determine how much light is needed. Table saws need to have at least their table top well illuminated. The out feed table needs some light but not as much. For a table saw a four foot fluorescent tube light over the table saw table will provide plenty of light.
