The Art of Woodworking! Woodworking is done from the ancient times itself. As the history states the Chinese and the Egyptians were fond of wood made materials on earlier days. They used copper for making wood processing tools and later iron. Woods can be divided into basic three types namely hardwood, softwood and man made material like plywood and MDF.
There are two different types of lighting that are important to your success as a woodworker: bright artificial lighting and natural sunlight. A well lit room is the key to producing quality work, especially if youre using power tools or deburring equipment to finish a project. Allowing natural sunlight into the workroom will make it easier to spot any imperfections in the wood that you wouldnt otherwise notice with harsh fluorescent lights. Additionally, good lighting makes it much easier to see the marks you make on the wood when you measure out your individual cuts and angles.
The first thing to do is to get some more ideas. Walk around some more and look at the other bookcases, pay attention to how they are built. Do you like one better then another? What kind of decorative molding do they have? Which do you like better? Might be worth a trip to a good furniture store to see what some of the real “upscale” pieces have on them. ( Before you leave the big-box store though, stop by the magazine section, and pick up a woodworking magazine. If you get even halfway lucky, you’ll have more than one to choose from and can find one that talks about bookcases.)
